What does an AI App Store screenshot generator actually do?

It turns a written description of your app into a finished set of store-ready frames: background, device mockup, headline, and layout, exported at App Store Connect pixel sizes. You never open a blank canvas or pick a template. You describe the app, a set comes back, and you edit it from there.

Can I change one frame without regenerating the whole set?

Yes, and that is the difference between this and a one-shot generator. Ask for a darker background on frame two or a shorter headline on frame four, and only that frame changes. The frames you already liked stay exactly as they were, so you are never trading a good result for a fix.

What sizes does it export?

Exact store dimensions for nine device specs, so App Store Connect and Google Play accept the upload without resizing: iPhone 16 Pro Max at 1260x2736, iPhone 17 Pro at 1206x2622, iPad Pro 13-inch at 2064x2752, Google Pixel 11 Pro at 1280x2856, Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra at 1440x3120, Android phone at 1080x2340, Android tablets at 1200x1920 and 1600x2560, and Apple Watch Ultra 2 at 410x502.

Do I need to upload screenshots of my app first?

No, but the set is worth more if you do. Without uploads the device frames render the design, the background, and the headline, which is enough to judge a direction. Drop in your real captures and they are placed inside the frames, which is what App Store review is looking for.

Will AI-generated screenshots get rejected by App Store review?

Not for being AI-generated. The rule that governs screenshots is App Store Review Guideline 2.3.3: every screenshot has to show the app in use. Rejections come from frames with no real app UI, UI that does not match the shipped app, or pure marketing splash frames. The widely repeated 60/40 rule (60 percent app UI, 40 percent marketing) is a community ASO heuristic and a safe default, not a percentage Apple publishes anywhere.
