What breaks in Punjabi
Punjabi in Gurmukhi grows about as much as Hindi does. The distinctive constraint is vertical: the tippi and bindi nasalisation marks sit above the connecting headline stroke, which is already the top of the glyph, so they push the effective ascent higher than almost any other Indic script at the same size.

Questions & Answers
Does the pa localization only reach India?
No, and for Punjabi that is most of the point. A localization is shown to any device set to that language, on any storefront. Punjabi has large populations in Canada, the UK and Australia, so a pa upload reaches them on storefronts with far higher revenue per user than India.
Why does my Punjabi caption clip at the top?
The tippi and bindi nasalisation marks sit above the connecting stroke, which is already the top of the letterform. That stacks two levels of height above what a Latin cap height reserves. A box that fit the English original will shave those marks, and losing a nasalisation mark changes the word.
Can I letter-space Gurmukhi?
No. Like Devanagari, Gurmukhi joins letters under a continuous stroke across the top of the word, and tracking cuts it into pieces. We drop letter-spacing for Gurmukhi rather than carrying over the value set on the English version.
