What breaks in Telugu
Telugu grows moderately in width and unusually in depth. Its conjuncts hang BELOW the base letter as subscript forms rather than fusing beside it, so a Telugu line has a descender depth Latin text never produces. Stacked line spacing tuned for English overlaps the subscript of one line with the headmark of the next.

Why do my Telugu lines look like they are colliding?
Line spacing set for Latin text. Telugu attaches conjunct consonants below the base letter and vowel marks above it, so a line occupies more vertical space than its font size implies in both directions. At English leading the subscript of one line lands on the headmark of the next. The fix is more leading, not a smaller font.
Can I use my Tamil or Kannada translation for Telugu?
No. They are separate languages in separate scripts, and App Store Connect treats te, ta and kn as unrelated localizations. Kannada and Telugu scripts look similar to an outsider and are not interchangeable to a reader.
What font do Telugu captions render in?
Noto Sans Telugu, loaded as a real webfont in both the preview and the headless export. We do not depend on the rendering machine having a Telugu font installed, which is the failure that produces tofu boxes in one export and correct text in another.
When did Telugu become available on the App Store?
On 31 March 2026, in the eleven-language expansion Apple framed around India. Any listing you find in Telugu today was built in the last fifteen months.
