iPad Pro

Also known as: iPad Pro 13-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch, iPad Pro M4

What is the iPad Pro for App Store screenshots?

The iPad Pro is Apple's flagship iPad line. The current generation is the iPad Pro M4 (released May 2024), which comes in two sizes: 11-inch and 13-inch. The 13-inch is the canonical large-iPad size for App Store screenshot uploads.

Required screenshot dimensions:

- iPad Pro 13-inch (M4): 2064 x 2752 portrait, 2752 x 2064 landscape - iPad Pro 12.9-inch (legacy, M2 and earlier): 2048 x 2732 portrait, 2732 x 2048 landscape

Apps that support iPad must include iPad screenshots in App Store Connect. Apple's auto-scaling fills smaller iPad slots (10.5-inch, 9.7-inch) from the 13-inch upload.

Why are iPad screenshots different from iPhone?

iPad screenshots are wider relative to height (the aspect ratio is closer to landscape than the tall narrow iPhone aspect). This changes the natural composition: an iPad screenshot has more horizontal room for side-by-side layouts, split views, or multi-column content. Many apps redesign their screenshot template entirely for iPad rather than scaling the iPhone composition.

The 13-inch vs 12.9-inch dimensional difference is small (~1 percent), but the M4 iPad Pro's higher pixel density and different aspect ratio mean exact-dimension uploads matter for sharp rendering at native resolution.

When does iPad screenshot quality matter most?

iPad screenshots matter most when iPad is the primary use case (creative tools, productivity software, games designed for larger screens) or when iPad listings are a meaningful share of installs. For phone-first apps with thin iPad support, the iPad screenshots can be the iPhone screenshots in iPad aspect ratio rather than fully rebuilt layouts.
