Sizes

Every Google Play screenshot size we render

Exact pixels, so the Play Console accepts the upload without resizing. Read from our device specs, not from a blog post.

DevicePixelsNotes
Android Phone1080 x 2340The safe default for a phone listing.
Google Pixel 11 Pro1280 x 2856Native resolution, real Pixel frame.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra1440 x 3120The largest Android phone canvas we render.
Android Tablet 7"1200 x 1920Google Play lists tablet shots separately.
Android Tablet 10"1600 x 2560The larger of the two tablet slots.

Wear OS, Chromebook and the file-format rules are in the full Google Play size guide. Need the Apple sizes too? The dimensions calculator covers all nine devices across both stores.

How it works

Describe, see, refine, ship

You do not have to know what you want up front. You have to be able to recognise it when you see it, and then say what to change.

Describe the app

One sentence about what it does and who it is for. No blank canvas, no template picker, no upfront design decisions you are not equipped to make.

See five options

A full set streams in at Google Play dimensions, sharing one palette and type scale. This is the part that tells you what you actually wanted.

Change one frame

Ask for a darker background on frame two or a shorter headline on frame four. Only that frame changes. The ones you liked are not up for renegotiation.

By device

Pick the Android device you are listing for

Each one renders a real device frame at its native resolution, not a phone outline scaled to fit.

Before you upload

What Google Play actually requires

Four rules that decide whether the Play Console accepts your listing. We handle three of them.

  • Between 2 and 8 phone screenshots

Fewer than the App Store allows, so an Apple set usually needs trimming rather than extending.

  • 9:16 portrait or 16:9 landscape

Minimum 320px on the short side, maximum 3840px on the long side. All five formats above sit inside that range.

  • JPEG or 24-bit PNG, no alpha channel

Transparency is a common upload rejection. The export flattens the alpha channel before you download it.

  • A 1024 x 500 feature graphic

Required by Google Play, and we do not render it. We generate the screenshot set only, so you will need to make the feature graphic elsewhere.

Google Play screenshot questions

What size do Google Play screenshots need to be?

Google Play accepts phone screenshots from 320px on the short side up to 3840px on the long side, in 9:16 portrait or 16:9 landscape. That is a range rather than one number, which is why tools disagree about it. We render five fixed formats inside that range so you never have to pick: Android phone at 1080x2340, Google Pixel 11 Pro at 1280x2856, Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra at 1440x3120, and tablets at 1200x1920 and 1600x2560.

How many screenshots does Google Play require?

At least 2 phone screenshots and at most 8. That is fewer than the App Store allows, so a set built for Apple usually needs trimming rather than extending. Ask for a shorter set in chat and the frames you kept stay exactly as they were.

Do you generate the 1024x500 feature graphic?

No. The feature graphic is a separate required Google Play asset at exactly 1024x500, and we do not render it today. We generate the screenshot set only. If you need the feature graphic, you will have to make it elsewhere, and it is worth knowing that before you start rather than after.

Can I reuse my App Store screenshots on Google Play?

Not at the same pixel sizes. Apple and Google want different dimensions, so a set exported for iPhone 16 Pro Max at 1260x2736 is the wrong shape for a Play listing. You do not need to redesign it though: the same project re-renders into the Android formats, and you can change any single frame by chat rather than rebuilding the set.

Does Google Play reject screenshots with transparency?

Yes. Google Play wants JPEG or 24-bit PNG with no alpha channel, and a transparent background is a common upload rejection. Our export flattens the alpha channel before you download, so what you get is already in an accepted format.

Does it handle Android tablets?

Both sizes. Google Play lists tablet screenshots separately from phone, and a listing without them looks unfinished on a tablet. We render 7-inch at 1200x1920 and 10-inch at 1600x2560, from the same project as your phone set, so the design stays consistent across all three.
