What is Storemaven?
Storemaven (sometimes branded as Storemaven by Skadi after a 2024 rebrand) is an App Store conversion optimization platform that runs A/B tests on simulated App Store product pages served to paid traffic audiences. Founded in 2015, it's one of the two original third-party screenshot testing platforms alongside SplitMetrics.
The Storemaven platform measures conversion intent from simulated-page visits sourced from paid social and search ads. The simulations are high-fidelity replicas of the real App Store and Google Play product page UI.
How does Storemaven differ from SplitMetrics?
The two platforms are similar in core functionality (simulated A/B testing of App Store pages with paid traffic). Differences are mostly in customer segment and analytics depth: Storemaven historically skewed toward gaming and large enterprise publishers; SplitMetrics has a broader mix including mid-size SaaS and indie teams.
Both platforms publish case studies that have become widely-cited benchmark data in the ASO industry. Storemaven case studies often involve gaming publishers (mobile games, casual gaming apps); SplitMetrics case studies span gaming and non-gaming categories.
When to pick Storemaven vs alternatives?
For gaming publishers, Storemaven is the default. For non-gaming SaaS, SplitMetrics tends to be the choice. Both work for screenshot testing; the underlying methodology is similar. The choice often comes down to pricing tier alignment and existing vendor relationships.
For indie teams without paid traffic budget to run third-party simulations, Apple's native Product Page Optimization (PPO) on App Store Connect is the free alternative, though PPO requires enough organic traffic volume to reach statistical significance.
